We are looking for a Manager of Inventory Forecasting & Analytics to join our fast-paced publishing team. In this highly impactful role, you will lead the creation of smarter inventory forecasting models and tools that enable better, faster decisions across the organization. Your work will directly shape how we buy, hold, and manage inventory - and help ensure our books are always available for readers. You’ll work closely with teams across data, automation, and AI to drive scalable process improvements and enable data-driven operations planning for our authors and titles. This position can function 100% remotely from the following states: Illinois, Arizona, Connecticut, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. The position also allows for a hybrid work schedule at our New York, NY office if desired,

This is an exempt, salaried position with an annual salary between $90,000 - $110,000.  We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.   

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Build and maintain inventory forecasting models and tools to optimize stock levels, reduce overstock, and minimize out-of-stock risk
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to model sales behavior, recommend retailer set quantities, and guide reprint decisions
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to quickly adjust forecasts based on real-time demand signals
  • Design, implement, and automate scalable reporting tools that support timely and accurate inventory decisions
  • Identify and close process and reporting gaps, partnering with key stakeholders across the organization
  • Monitor key performance indicators (e.g., inventory turn, forecast accuracy) and proactively address deviations
  • Participate in operations planning for new title launches, taking ownership of forecasting strategy
  • Lead initiatives to improve visibility, automation, and predictive capability across inventory processes
  • Provide insights, documentation, and training to support adoption of new tools and ensure process consistency
What your bring:
  • 3-5+ years of experience in inventory, operations, or supply chain analytics (publishing experience a strong plus)
  • Familiarity with SAP Business One or SAP S4 Hana; experience integrating analytics and reporting with SAP systems is a strong plus
  • Proficiency with SQL for querying ERP or warehouse systems
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, or other modern business intelligence tools
  • Exposure to or interest in using LLM/machine learning, Python or R for data analysis, automation, or statistical forecasting (even light exposure is valuable)
  • Experience building dashboards or inventory tools that integrate across systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, and BI platforms)
  • A strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for accuracy and integrity in data
