Sourcebooks is seeking a strategic, detail-driven Associate Director, International Marketing & Publicity to create and execute bold, coordinated campaigns for approximately 20-30 titles each season.
As the central project lead between U.S. marketing teams, International Sales, and global affiliates, you’ll guide author and agent relationships, shape campaign strategy, and ensure streamlined workflows, coordinated timing, and author-specific best practices across markets.
The ideal candidate brings 5–10 years’ experience in book publishing—marketing or publicity preferred—as well as a genuine interest in international publishing and a strong understanding of global market dynamics. You should have outstanding presentation, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and be a highly organized self-starter who can manage multiple projects, reprioritize as needed, and build trust with authors and agents in a fast-paced environment.
The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $105,000 annually. We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.
This is a hybrid position is based in Naperville, Illinois or New York and may require days in office depending on the needs of the team.

What You'll Do:
- Develop and lead bold, coordinated international marketing and publicity campaigns for 20–30 titles each season.
- Serve as the central project lead between U.S. marketing teams, International Sales, and global affiliates.
- Guide author and agent relationships while shaping campaign strategy and execution.
- Ensure streamlined workflows, coordinated timing, and market-specific best practices across regions.
- Manage Sourcebooks’ presence at major international book fairs (including booth planning, shipping/logistics, and seasonal catalogs).
- Represent International Marketing in author and agent meetings.
- Present at International Sales conferences.
- Oversee and grow the Sourcebooks International Instagram account.
- Track and report campaign progress to internal stakeholders and authors, providing clear, contextual insights.
- Collaborate with Vertical Marketing, Retail Marketing, and International Sales to identify and maximize cross-market opportunities.
- Manage and mentor the Associate Manager, International Marketing & Publicity.
- Partner closely with the International Sales team to align priorities and execute integrated global campaigns.
What You Bring:
- 5–10 years of experience in book publishing (marketing or publicity preferred).
