We are seeking a book industry sales professional with proven experience managing sales teams and driving significant revenue growth to take on the exciting new role of Director of Sales Strategy. This position is responsible for developing and executing innovative and customized sales plans that will yield impactful results for all sales channels. In addition, the Director needs to be a motivating leader who will take ownership of the targets by executing strategy and managing team performance. Our ideal candidate exercises a growth mindset and can adapt and adjust to market changes.
This position can be hybrid in Naperville, IL or NYC, or fully remote in the following states ONLY: AZ, CT, LA, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, NV, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA, AND WI.
This is an exempt, salaried position with an annual salary between $125,000 - $150,000 for the Chicagoland area. We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.

What You’ll Do:
- Create and execute sales strategy to achieve target goals.
- Oversee sales forecasting by title.
- Shape long term vision for the sales organization.
- Manage multiple deadlines driven projects simultaneously.
- Provide support and communication between sales and the marketing teams, making sure materials, comps and launch plans are in place for start to sell.
- Improve efficiency by streamlining sales processes to optimize team performance.
- Monitor, analyze and report on sales performance, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Manage and lead a sales team, ensuring performance aligns with set company goals.
- Foster a growth mindset within the sales team to encourage continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with customers, developing new opportunities and enhancing client relationships.
- Manage and oversee sales budget.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales leadership in the book industry with a proven track record of consistent sales growth
- Established relationships with key customers.
- Analytical thinker with a strategic approach to growing sales
- Experience in streamlining processes for optimal efficiency.
- Effective, visionary team leader who mentors, develops, and motivates.
- Proven ability to work effectively with employees across all functions and levels within a company.
